Missionaries of the Holy Spirit
The Missionaries of the Holy Spirit are “first and foremost contemplative and then men of action.” The mission of the Missionaries of the Holy Spirit is to extend the Reign of the Holy Spirit, which is a Kingdom of justice, peace, and love. As our name indicates, we are sent by the Holy Spirit to promote holiness to all the people of God, and to make known the third person of the Most Holy Trinity - the Holy Spirit - and that all people may be opened to His inspirations. |

The congregation of the Missionaries of the Holy Spirit was founded December 25, 1914, in Mexico City by Fr. Felix de Jesus Rougier and Mrs. Concepcion Cabrera de Armida, a laity woman. Our spirituality is to follow Jesus, Priest and Victim, in order to transform ourselves in Him. We, the Missionaries of the Holy Spirit, have been called to live the same virtues and attitudes of love, purity and sacrifice that Jesus lived. This spirituality is called the Spirituality of the Cross and is symbolized in the Cross of the Apostolate, which is the Cross of Jesus, Priest and Victim. Mary, the mother of Jesus, is our role model. She offered Jesus since the Incarnation, and she offered herself in union with Him to the Eternal Father for the salvation of the world. |
