GOOD NEWS REGARDING THE CAPITAL CAMPAIGN:
The Gene Hass Foundation’s Gift: 1,000,000
 To the Construction Project

Inspiring People

A year ago, I wrote the “Wings of Hope” article for a publication. In that article, I expressed my feeling that “It is a powerful calling which impels us to work for the construction of a new Church.  We are working for hope, the hope of giving people a place where human and divine experience come together and embrace, a place where human dignity finds divine reception. It will be a place where spiritual healing is possible and where the dividing differences between people of different countries and cultures can be healed and our commonalities found”. It is still our longing to build this place where all welcome. We are impelled to build “a place where miracles are possible, not the laud and spectacular ones we would like to see” and we are wondering when the unexpected will happened.
But people with the same vision have joined us in our dreams; people with generosity, people that understand the courage of risk that is required to make significant dreams come through. These people are an inspiration and move society toward a new and different future. The Gene Hass Foundation understands that such projects benefit the life and vitality of our Catholic Church, our City and the parish Community. This foundation gave me the financial support that is required to journey ahead to the other side of the abyss. I am personally grateful to Mr. Gene Hass, his family and the G. H. Foundation for entrusting our parish and for audaciously staying on our side in this very important and visionary task.
Many were convinced that the construction of our Church would take many, many years. People have express to me their personal skepticism on such an immense challenge. Now, I have the great joy and honor to state that we will soon be in wonder and awe as we begin the walls of the new temple that our Lady of Guadalupe herself is supporting with her presence and her blessing. What we need now is that those undecided people to embrace the project and help us finish the work we have begun. We still need to raise more funds to ensure that this church is going to be a beautiful sacred space on earth dedicated to The Lord and Our Lady of Guadalupe. I thank Bishop Thomas Curry, my Staff and assistants, the parishioners, the benefactors and the volunteers that are supporting me in making fruitful all the efforts required to our project “Gift of Love, Symbol of Faith and Hope”.
